(Beth submitted her bio online - you can, too)

I have been playing for:  7 years seriously

I started playing pool because:
My parents used to take me and my brother Scott to play miniature golf when I was about 9 years old, but I was always really bad.  So I would stay inside and play arcade games and air hockey.  One day I saw a couple of guys playing pool.  I asked my dad how to play the game and that is when he taught me how to play 8-Ball.  I played around for a couple of years, just for fun.  When I was about 17-18 years old I started going to Big Daddy's and watching people and playing.  I started working there and started playing in the tournaments.  Then I heard about women going to Vegas and playing in huge tournaments so I started watching ESPN - that's when I learned about Jeanette Lee.  Ever since watching her play I have wanted to make it to Vegas just to play her.  It is my goal to play her in Vegas.

I love most about pool:
I love the fact that no matter what kind of mood I am in I can just pick up that stick and everything goes away.  Playing pool takes me away from my life and worries.  I love the different challenges that each break on that table gives me - new shots to learn, new tricks....I just love to play the game.

Did someone influence you and pool?  If so, who, how and what does it mean to you?:
My parents started me playing, but
I would have to say that Ed and Vicki McKillop are the two most influential people to my pool career.  When I started playing pool at Big Daddy's, Vicki was always very supportive of me and Ed was always giving me new drills to practice.  I honestly can say that if it wasn't for Big Daddy's I probably wouldn't be playing pool.  They got me so interested and enthused about the game - and never made me feel inadequate about wanted to make it to Vegas.  Jeanette Lee is my "hero" I guess you could say, but Ed and Vicki kept me going.  So I want to thank Ed and Vicki - from the bottom of my heart - for opening me up to such a competitive, fun, and mind boggling sport.  My best friend Mike Moon has also been a great influence - he has put up with me for so long - trying to teach me different things, like patience on the table....he means a lot to me and I just want to thank him for his support.

I want people to really know about me:
I am 24 years old and I live in Alvin.  I am a Bartender and a Manager for Slick Willies.  I LOVE playing pool.  I want to thank Charlie Bryant for his lessons and patience with me - he has been a great asset to me on the table.

My first BIG Tournament was an APA 8-Ball Cash/Tri-Cup event in 2004.  My team made it for the Cash Cup and we had to play short a player - which is not easy in the APA.  We actually ended up winning 1st place - I am so proud of my team mates.  And then later in 2004 I was named the Top Ranked Female in the South East Region of Texas in the APA - it was a great honor.
