HUNTER CLASSICS AMATEUR WOMEN'S TOUR
Melanie Koger
Fort Worth, TX

Cue: Odom and Hunter

Melanie

My name is Melanie Koger. Obsessive, compulsive pool personality!

I am thrilled to be living back in Fort Worth, TX as there is just too much pool to be BELIEVED around here!

What brought me to the brink of pool -o- mania? A moderate amount of natural talent, a LARGE amount of ego and the love of the game. Thank God for Wes Hunter and Susan Dasher for giving their time, money and "sanity" to create the Hunter Tour for all of us to play in.

I am 38 years old, 5' 8" and weigh in at somewhere between 100 and 200 pounds. I trained cutting horses for years, team roped and did the rodeo thing for fun in my 20's. Now in my (late!!!) 30's I'm having a passion for pool which has introduced me to some really neat people in and around the sport who share the same love of the game as I do.

I practiced up (for a WHOLE 2 wks) before my very first 9-ball tournament. The first Hunter Tournament in Albuquerque, NM. Susan Dasher says I just sort of "swaggered" onto the scene like a gunfighter with my six-shooters on! In my ignorance of how people REALLY played pool, I thought I was a "shoo-in" for the WIN!!! I was completely dumb-founded and shocked at how good all the girls were and much to everyones surprise, remained speechless for days afterwards!

Since then, I have gone here and there. Won some, lost some and played good, bad and ugly but I have never forgotten how nervous and scared I was in the beginning and how nice all the girls were to me when they didn't know me from Adam. The girls that play on the Hunter Tour are a classy bunch of dames and I'm proud to be associated with them. I hope that I can encourage other beginners and newcomers to come and enjoy the competition as much as I have.

adios
