Hi! My name is Pam Barker and I love to play pool!!!

I began playing 3 years ago when my husband decided to enter the Northern New Mexico Pool Championship Tournament. I hated it! Yes, I hated every minute of being at the pool hall and hoped every day for at least a month we would do something else at night other than play pool. But then, one night, I beat my husband and a friend he had been practicing with and boy, was I hooked.

There aren't too many women in Northern New Mexico that play pool. When I started playing in our local league, there were only 5 of us that played. I entered my first Hunter Classic last year at Doc and Eddy's in Albuquerque. It was my first really big tournament and I really felt like the "country mouse". The first woman I played was totally cool. She is from Albuquerque I believe people call her "Wiz". After our match (which she won) she gave me some pointers on strategy and composure, etc. I'll never forget that. (Thanks "Wiz")

Anyway, I love pool and would gladly correspond with more women who play this sport we are all hooked on!
