Denise submitted her bio online.  You can, too.

I started playing pool because:
I originally started about 25 years ago because when I would go out with what is now my ex husband, he would leave me sitting at a table while he went off to play pool. After getting fed up, I went over and asked some guys to show me how to play. Of course they didn't know how to play any better than I did, but I didn't know that at the time. I only played socially back then up until I quit playing to raise my kids when I got a divorce. When my kids were grown and out of the house, I saw a poster for a local pool tournament and decided to enter....I hadn't played in 8 years. I came in 4th, and I was hooked. I found an APA team and played league and the tournament and nothing in between. Then I met my current boyfriend who owned Fast Eddie's (a local bar and grill), he taught me how to play the right way.

I love most about pool:
I don't think I will ever tire of pool. Everytime I play there is either a new challenge on the table or with my opponent. It is an intelligent sport that I can continue to play no matter what my strength or age.

Did someone influence you and pool? If so, who, how and what does it mean to you?:
I couldn't narrow it down to just one person as an influence, although if it weren't for my boyfriend Eddie, I probably wouldn't have pushed myself to this level.

I want people to really know about me:
I am going to keep working on my game and maybe some day I will be the one winning the main event. Although I have been playing seriously for the last five years, I have only been playing on 8 & 9 ft tables for about 3 months, so I am pretty pleased with the progress I have made so far.

Non-pool related:
I am the single mother of two grown children. I am a full time accountant for a company base at a university in Little Rock. I am also a professional portrait artist and enjoy music, movies, reading and live concerts.
