HUNTER CLASSICS AMATEUR WOMEN'S TOUR
Nancy French
Leander, TX
Cue: Helmstedder

Nancy

I started playing this game because I had a really bad boyfriend and it just tore him up when I beat him, so I wanted to be able to do it more often- though not to him, because he got gone. Then I found out how hard it really is, and I was hooked. There's nothing I like better than a challenge.

With a little bit of money, I entered the Hunter Tournament at Eric's in Austin- you know, that huge 100 plus tournament in August??? 1995??? Maybe? After losing 7-0, 7-0, I got a little bit more money, and went to see Belinda Bearden (yes I know its Campos now, but this is my story, okay?) for some badly needed lessons. After I discovered that I actually didn't know anything (bridge, stance, stroke, aiming, etc.) I got a few more lessons, and started spending around 6-8 hours a day practicing. A few months later, reality set in, and I had to get a real job, so 6-8 hours turned into some and none during the week, but I have to make it quality practice, so I try.

I love this tour! Everyone is super nice, good players, just all-around fun. The BCA Nationals (eightball) are now three weeks and one day away, I think I might start packing soon, I'm so excited!! This is probably the first time I've sat down at my computer in a month, so I'm going a little bit overboard, but why not? I'm looking forward to three of the next four stops being right in my back porch, hope to see all of you there! Don't forget to get in on the free entry raffle, it really works, I won the one at the Arlington stop!!!
